My favorite adds in newspapers are in the missed connections area. I just find there is something sadly romantic about looking for a person that you where to shy to talk you on a newspaper. There is nothing better on a cold winter Sunday than flipping through the adds and see, who else missed asking that cute guy for his number, just like yourself. I am guessing Brooklyn based illustrator Sophie Blackall feels a similar way about the missed connections. She created a lovely series of illustration from the best adds she finds. My all time favorite is the girl wit the golden swan bike, but there are plenty more. You will find more images after the jump or on her blog: http://missedconnectionsny.blogspot.com/

I took this images of the rainbow over Paris at the Concorde entrance of the Tuilleries ca. 1997. Beofre I had a digital camera.  I am sure putting the font on it was a big act in Photoshop 2 back then. Curious: The quote is by Dolly Parton. Do not ask.

Anke Heelemann’s new interactive exhibition deals with the potential of white spots in photographs. Poetic ideas in old forgotten photographs. Vernissage: 25. Nov 2010, 7 pm. http://betahaus.de/

A new age has arrived: Berlin is on Google Street View. The best use: Check out Berlin’s street art from everywhere. Like the one above on Cuvrystrasse by Blu, just across from my house. But please not: The street view images are taken two years ago, what you see is not current. If you would like to know how it has changed, you will still have to come over.

Did you ever ask yourself how “green” an iphone is? You would think with the trendsetting concepts and stunning design, they would be on the fast forward with sustainability too, right? Well, crazy enough, they are not. Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics is right after the jump. Up above an idea for an eco-friendly phone by Docomo using wood, that is leftover when thinning out forests. It will be available in limited edition in JApan next year only, but let’s hope the idea catches on. Let’s touch wood.

For the first time, Jacques et Brigitte show self-initiated works, which reflect their passion for design and products in their exhibition FORGET BERLIN at the Create Berlin showroom.

FORGET BERLIN deals with the intense engagement with their adopted city, Berlin. Many of their works over the last four years broach the issue of the big city and its absence at the same time. Their passions for the alpine mountains, on which peaks you can enjoy endless vastnesses, influence their work in the same way, as the multi layered aspects of the metropolis.

Vernissage: Thursday, 2. Dezember 2010, 19.00

at Create Berlin Showroom, Almstadtstrasse 35, 10119 Berlin-Mitte

Welcome to the Zoo is a jewelry collection made from up-cycled kid’s coat and clothes, which are turned into cute as a button zoo animals.

I did a little research on DIY blog and sites lately and was happy to find so many great projects. So happy infact, that I will share them with you. So you will not have to sit in front of your latest series all winter, but can indulge in a little DIY project instead.

more after the jump…

Ecouterre announced the winners of their Recycled Denim Challenge. O big wow to Joseph Jangs creation. He was not the winner, but I find it hard to believe that this piece of denim look better before her turned it around and created this beautiful geometric dress. My personal winner! I found this images and more on “envision” an installation by the creative agency super bien on http://www.designboom.com/weblog/cat/16/view/11982/envision.html. When it comes to heirlooms and antique embroideries I always forget that I am a modern girl in the 21st century and wish myself back to the times of handmade dowry. I love these spins on the traditional stitching and will show you what I embroidered myself in the nexy days…
